We are postponing the support day for Wicen's Shooting range on April 13th

Due to the circumstances surrounding the events at Wicen's, Joe told me that he has had to enact new ranges rules immediately.   Since we were not able to inform people ahead of time of the new range fees, and trying to qualify a large group of people will probable restrict range time for many of  us.

We are going to postpone the date for a few weeks.  I apologize for not letting you guys know about this sooner, but I just found out about this yesterday.

The new range fee rules are posted on the homepage http://www.wicenshootingrange.com/

I'll be in touch with everyone in the near future.

Wicen's Shooting Range Support Day

Place: Wicen's Shooting Range
(The Farm)
3179 Mozart RoadFurlong, PA  18925
215-598-3534
http://www.wicenshootingrange.com/

Date:  Sunday-April 13th Wicen's Shooting Range.

Time: 10am-4pm

Cost: $15

This shoot will be an official Rally Point shoot and specifically to support Wicen's Shooting Range.

Please read the range rules before attending the shoot.  They are clearly posted on ttp://www.wicenshootingrange.com/

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: They require photo identification for each adult signing in to use the range. If you do not have photo identification, you will not be allowed on the firing line.

Any local business that wants to donate something as a door prize on April 13th should contact me via PM at TRP.org. or email me at jyoung9656@verizon.net

Joe Wicen gave me permission to allow food to be cooked off the firing line, but I ask that people pack their own lunches/food for this because trying to accomodate an unknown turn out will be difficult.   If you plan on cooking food, please contact me and try an co-ordinate that for your group.

Please come with the a helpful attitude.   We want to create a positive atmosphere in light of the situation.

All of the details about the stray bullet incendent at Wicen's are still being compiled, but we need to show support for the range.

Spread the word and get off the computer and come out on April 13th.

Please repost this on any gun board that is willing to support Joe Wicen's range.  People from Delware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be in attendance so please spread the word with 2nd Amendment groups in those States.    I would appreciate it if people would post here or email me about attending the shoot so that I don't have to read through too many gun boards to get an accurate head count.

Joe's gonna see this thread so please voice your support so he can see it!

Will trap be available? Does anyone know what the pistol range is like? Frames to hang paper targets? Steel plates? Other?

They have a 25 yard pistol range with frames to attach targets (cardboard already mounted).  You can shoot rifle and pistol on the 25 yard range, rifle only on the 100 yard range and they do have a shotgun area for clays.  I am not sure if they have throwers there or if you have to bring your own.

Sounds good. I'll look into it. Anyone know if they have clays there to buy or do I need to get a case?

I may tote my shotgun for this.  I've never shot clays at Wicen's I know it's on the other side of the property, but we could try and get a schedule for the day.  How about a 1pm shotgun event?   The worst shooter has to clean everyone elses guns? Grin

Wicen's Shooting Range Support Day

I would appreciate it if people would post here or email me about attending the shoot so that I don't have to read through too many gun boards to get an accurate head count.

I will be there and if I can get my son home from college he'll be there too. We're both fairly new to shooting and our time at Wicen's together has been a perfect way to do a little bonding. It's a great range run by great people and they deserve any support we can give them.

For those of you that are coming here for the first time, we are running a TRP Giveaway here http://www.therallypoint.org/forum/index.php?topic=2115.0

You guys are all invited to jump in.   I plan on trying to put something like that together with some local businesses for the Wicen's shoot.

I hope to come out, but Sundays are always full of church stuff.  However I can throw my shotgun and a few pistols in the trunk and run out of church as soon as they let us out.  Wink

Tanner's, Gray's and Surplus City all have ads in their front doors for the shoot. I still have a few more gun shops to hit this week.

Jamie...

Good work.
to
Sorry, Jason and I have a class that day, but we're going up to help Joe and Lori earlier.

Don't forget Quinby's (Dublin, on 313) and "Guns and Things" (in Penndel)

I'm a little tied up at the College this week, but if you sen dme a PDF on regular e-mail, I'll get it to G&T and the two Dick's in the lower county.

Also, I've come to find a lot of Philly shooters use Wicen's, so Lock's, and "the other few" gun shops (Mikes?) may be useful to hit.
